Two Major Events are happening at the park this week

The New Hampshire Natural Heritage Bureau will be holding a workshop on invasive plant species on Wednesday, June 21 at the lodge at 10:00-10:30AM. Following the workshop, volunteers will be asked to put their knowledge to work by pulling invasive plants from the park. This field work will take place on June 21-23 from 10:30AM to 2:30PM. Volunteers can work on any and all days for as long as they would like. Any amount of work that is contributed is important for our park and will be very much appreciated.

The NH Natural Heritage Bureau is a Bureau within the NH Division of Forests and Lands. The Bureau finds, tracks, and facilitates the protection of New Hampshire's rare plants and exemplary natural communities (types of forests, wetlands, grasslands, etc.). You can read more about their mission at: www.nh.gov/nhdfl/nhb

Our first evening program of the year will take place at the summit house on Thursday, June 22, at 7PM.

April 8, 2024 will be a unique occasion for New Hampshire - a Total Eclipse of the Sun will cross the northern portion of the state. What happens during an eclipse? How can you get to view it? What will you experience? What does this mean for the economy of the region? These and other aspects of the eclipse - including the science of the Sun and eclipses, will be addressed in this talk.
