We're happy to report that the extensive masonry repairs to our tower are moving along at a brisk pace. It's anticipated that all of the exterior work will be finished by the end of September. The work is being done by Pro-Point Restoration out of New Durham, NH.
The crew has been chipping and removing the older masonry and will soon begin repointing the stone work by installing high quality new mortar throughout the entire structure. It's painstaking work to be sure.
Here's a look at our crew (left to right) - Cam, Jared and Sam. When the outside work is complete and as the colder weather arrives, our workers will then move inside. Jared explained that they will be able to install temporary heaters if necessary.
The exciting news is that our tower will have had new masonry installed throughout by November 1st! We had not expected that the work could be accomplished so professionally and quickly and can't wait for it to be re-opened to the public next season. Thank you Pro-Point Restoration and NH Parks.
